Walmart DC 6068 – Storm Damage Reconstruction

Construction management for a body shop expansion and a standalone EV battery assembly and storage facility on Volkswagen's Chattanooga campus.
Volkswagen's EV program needed a body shop expansion and a new battery assembly and storage building at the same time, both on a campus that never stopped producing cars. We served as owner-side construction manager across both, tracking progress, resolving field issues, and overseeing the RFI and submittal process for the program's North American home base. Both steel structures went up on concrete foundations with insulated metal panel envelopes.
Both facilities were completed in 2023, and the work led to three further projects on the Chattanooga campus.
"JAFielden's construction knowledge was a great asset to the construction manager aspect of the project. We look forward to working with them as a Construction Manager or Contractor."—Anthony Lytle, Construction Planning Specialist, Volkswagen of America
