Three construction workers in safety gear review blueprints at a building site with a steel frame structure.

We build structures and relationships that last.

We'd rather solve a problem than talk about one. Our relationships with our clients and with each other are the whole point.

We exist because of our customers.

Joe Fielden started J.A. Fielden in Knoxville in 1992, after years as a partner in another general construction firm, because he saw the need for a contractor built around service. The business thrived on that approach: relationships first, and a shared commitment to quality.

We learned our trade on some of the most process-driven programs in American retail, running many live projects in parallel and on unforgiving schedules. That discipline is what built the company delivering advanced manufacturing plants, ground-up communities, and national retail programs across the country today.

Safety & Compliance

Safety and compliance are the cost of entry in the environments we build in, and we treat them that way. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that employees and crews understand and follow all state and federal safety regulations. J.A. Fielden’s Compliance Department monitors all projects during the construction phase, is CPESC-certified under the Certified Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control Program (approved by Federal EPA). Our Compliance Department is familiar with all permits, laws, regulations, and documentation that are required for each project.

Our goal is simple: Everyone goes home each day injury-free.

Tell us what you're building.
