Cottages on Tazwell, completed in 2015, was the first cottage-style community J.A. Fielden built. Twenty-eight two-story buildings of varied cottage designs, 251 one- to three-bedroom homes, a clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style pool, and dog park, all set across rolling East Tennessee terrain.
The challenge was repetition without uniformity: distinct cottage designs built efficiently, with sitework shaped to the land rather than flattening it. The community established a formula J.A. Fielden has since delivered in cottage-style communities across the Southeast.
